Dear Parents and Teachers,
Our biggest fundraiser of the year is here again, Spring Fling 2009. This will
be LIS’s 9th Annual Spring Fling and we hope to make this as successful as all
the others.
I must start by thanking all our very generous donors who supported us last
year. We raised a staggering figure of over $36,000 and every cent has been
spent on improving our school environment and putting much needed resources into
the classrooms. Take a look at the PTA Annual Report (available in the school
office) to see exactly how we spent all your money raised from last year.
All money raised this year will go towards funding interactive whiteboards.
This years Spring Fling will be a FIESTA Theme and it will be held at the Sir
Charles Hayward Yacht Club on Saturday 9th May 7pm. We will of course
be having a live band, our popular silent auction and a Director’s Auction.
Tickets for Spring Fling will go on sale after the Easter Holidays.
We are appealing to all our parents this year to make a donation to our auctions
and come along and support this event. We have lots of ideas of what can be
donated and a look at the suggestion list (attached) may help you think of
something to donate. Alternatively, we are looking for sponsors who will make
cash donations to help us pay for the inevitable costs associated with the
organisation of the Spring Fling. All sponsors will get a special mention in our
Auction Handbook and of course as a sponsor on our website. We are also offering
adverts in our booklet, full page colour $250, full page $200, half page $100
and quarter page $75 for more details on the adverts please contact
donnahblake@coralwave.com.
Please do your best to support this event and if you can make a donation of any
kind, I would be grateful if you could return the attached donor form to myself,
Beverley Dobinson, or via the school office by Friday 3rd April.

Thank
you to all those environmentally aware people that contributed their
cartridges and cell phones to the Funding Factory Program, unfortunately we
are discontinuing the program due to shipping and customs issues, and
additionally, we did not have the volume of cartridges and phones to make the
program worthwhile. If you are interested in collecting your used cartridges
for refill purposes, they will be available to pickup until January 31, 2008.
