Homeroom Parents

A homeroom parent plays an integral role in the social welfare of the classroom. This person is a parent of one of the students in the class, and is responsible for  communicating with the PTA Homeroom Parents Committee, with the classroom teacher and other parents, and helping out in any way possible during school activities and events.

Objective

The objective of the homeroom parent is to provide additional and more personalized communication link between the PTA Council, parents, teacher and students at class level. 

Job Requirements

  • Communicate PTA activities/events/information on a personal basis i.e. conversation, or email to parents and teacher in your class.
  • Prepare class contact information list. Please email to the rest of your class parents and teacher, and to the PTA Homeroom Parents Coordinator once complete.
  • Recruit volunteers and arrange food/drinks donations for school/classroom events.
  • Communicate your class ideas/suggestions to the PTA Council.
  • Be the key contact for any new parents joining the class. Help with any questions, and introduce them to other parents.
  • Arrange and collect money for group gifts for teacher at Christmas/birthday/Teacher appreciation day.
  • Help class teacher arrange out field trips and other school activities.
